Teaching and a few other things

Well today was interesting. Two instructors didn't show up for classes today, didn't call in and one got really bitchy on the phone when she was called about it. I understand that things happen and come up, this is exactly the reason why I decided to become an instructor for AFTB.

So today, unprepared at 9am to teach this section of classes, I winged it. I think that I did alright, there was allot of participation and that is always what is wanted.

Tomorrow I am already scheduled to teach the Crisis, coping and grieving class so it will not be an issue. However the instructor up first on platform tomorrow is the one that was up first today and got bitchy on the phone. I hope that things are ok for her and her family, and I believe that I am prepared to cover that class if I am needed too. Who knows, I may have to wing it again and well, its not so bad after all. :D

I look forward to KO coming home, mostly so that his stress levels will go down, so that I can hold him and be held. He has been gone for 15 days now. : Sighs: I know that I am ready for him to come home now...

****

To Khornesone, who may get online and read this....

My love.. I miss you, you know this.. I long to hear your voice again, I emailed you some voice clips from the kids and myself. I hope they bring you some comfort and you are able to listen to them when you can and as often as you like. I have tried to send you an email every day, some days have been more productive then others but I tried. Even if it was just to say I love you and miss you.

We think of you often.

Love

Your Wife and children.

P.s. Your packages arrived from Forge World. :D

Maybe you should have instructors file a lesson plan, that way if they miss, you don't have to "wing it."

We miss you too KO. Your wife and children are different when you aren't around, to calm them, play with them and hold them. We did our best to make them laugh and have fun when they came for a visit, but we weren't you. Come home soon, Sir and take care of yourself.

*hugs to you all*

There is a lesson plan for all the classes, that is not a problem. The problem is when Instructors just dont show up and you have to scramble to get someone to teach the class. That situation is being taken care of. I am slowly getting prepaired to teach all 34 classes, but it takes a bit of time to get fully on board with them all. :D It will come in time and I will get prepaired, it is part of my job now. :D

HAHAH we smiled.. you are going to panic the man!

Principles of Leadership

I was going through some files where I volunteer, we moved our office so we are unpacking this week, and I came across this slide from one of our presentations. This specifically applies to the Family Readiness Group Leadership but I thought I would share it an ways as some of it does apply outside the Military.

"Principles of Leadership

1. Know yourself, and seek self improvement.

2. Seek responsibility, and take responsibility for your actions.

3. Make sound and timely decisions.

4. Set the example."

5. Know your family members, and look out for their well-being.

6. Keep your family members informed.

7. Develop a sense of responsibility in your volunteers and family members.

8. Build the team.”

Just thought I would share.
